Based in San Jose, California, Rise Above Republic is more than a brand—it’s a movement. We exist to inspire people to rise above the world's influence and make Jesus the center of their lives.
A true republic is defined by the power of the people, who exercise that power by choosing their representative. For us, that representative is Jesus.
Rise Above Republic was created to express what is being experienced in this generation. Each collection and style carries a message, a declaration of faith woven into every design. We set no limits on how we express our beliefs—our brand is a lifestyle, reflecting the many ways we walk in faith.

The Logo: The Heart on Fire
Our logo—a heart on fire—symbolizes the importance of each individual’s internal flame, ignited and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We strive to inspire people to fan the flame within their hearts because external flames can be extinguished by others, but only you can sustain the fire inside. As Pastor Richard Hernandez says: “The only one who can kill the dream is the dreamer.”
The Founder
Richard Hernandez – Pastor | Author | Artist | Follower of Jesus
Richard's journey is a testament to transformation. Raised in street and gang culture, he was a high school dropout and a troubled youth—until a radical encounter with Jesus at the age of 16 changed everything.
At 26, Richard founded his own engineering and electronics manufacturing company in the Bay Area while serving as a youth pastor. His passion for both ministry and business allowed him to impact lives in multiple arenas.
For over 12 years, Richard dedicated himself to youth ministry and launched Rise Above Republic, an evangelistic initiative that combined Christian clothing, music, and events to reach people worldwide. Through creative collaborations with leading Christian artists, the movement gained global influence.
In 2020, Richard stepped into the role of Lead Pastor of Family Life Church. Despite this new season of leadership, he remains deeply connected to his roots—continuing to inspire, mentor, and rise above.
